perhaps someone else has already touched on this, but assuming A) that Steve accepts his sexuality,  B) that Steve knows that the serum is supposed to cure his illnesses, and C) he’s been taught that same-sex attraction is an illness—just how terrified would he be of waking up post-serum and not loving Bucky anymore?
