Myths and Legends of Russia by Niroot Puttapipat. #Love it!
The thing I love most about this is that in the first gif, Steve clearly has no clue how to support someone, and Bucky is physically trying not to put all his weight on Steve. They just sort of ‘cling’, not yet use to their new dynamic but still in sync. And in the second gif they are just ‘yep, we got this down now’. *happy sigh*

For the first time since 1941, anthrax has hit Western Siberia, with 1,500 reindeer dying and 13 Yamal nomads being hospitalized including 4 children.
This is because unusually high temperatures (it’s 10 degrees Fahrenheit higher than normal) have melted permafrost containing the corpse of a reindeer that died of the bacteria 75 years ago.
Anthrax goes dormant when frozen, turning into a spore that reanimates when the temperature rises. Scientists estimate it can survive in this state for a minimum of 100 years.
In Siberia, dozens of herders have been relocated, a quarantine is in place and a state of emergency has been declared by the mayor.
This renews concerns that ancient viruses and bacteria could once again pose a threat, as the earth warms.
In 2014 scientists discovered that a Siberian virus, pithovirus sibericum, which lay dormant in permafrost for 30,000 years, became infectious again once thawed.
The article:
Holy crap.
We never beat the bacteria, we just win a round of the fight.
“if you want to adopt kids at an older age, that’s just lazy and you’ll miss the important developmental years. you won’t be able to connect.” okay but consider this:
1. I will not be able to handle a baby, but I will definitely be able to manage and guide an older child
2. no diapers. hallelujah
3. As a foster child gets older, their chance of adoption plummets. Adopting an older child gives a late break to someone who would have otherwise had to age out of the system
4. my plans for adoption are none of your concern
PLEASE CONSIDER THIS.
“As a foster child gets older, their chance of adoption plummets. Adopting an older child gives a late break to someone who would have otherwise had to age out of the system”
I’m glad there are people that share this sentiment

Historical Slang Terms For Having Sex, From 1351 Through Today
You! Yes you! Fanfic authors! You no longer have any excuse to flagrantly use
agonizinglyjarringly modern slang in your smutty fic set anytime after 1351! These timelines cover various sex acts, terms for genitalia, bodily fluids, contraception, and, of course, orgasm. Never again will you use a period-inappropriate word in your fic set in 1940! Or 1895! Or even 1500! Yay!Offering this resource with the caveat that we’re also missing a lot of cultural context around individual terms. (If I wrote a fic where someone is “choking the chicken”, I doubt you’d think it terribly sexy.) It’s great to think about historical accuracy, but also how your story comes across to its readers.
Oh my god I was literally JUST wondering yesterday whether there was a list like this somewhere. We truly live in a blessed age of the Internet.
